this error appears when someone fails an authentication via Shell Clients
for example putty. It's harmless

How I already told, this error is harmless it appears on every Server
you're not the only one. There's probably a possibility to deactivate it
but I can't help you with that.. just google it you'll find it for sure.

ok give some more information about your server. Is mysql alredy installed and started ? you can start it:

/etc/init.d/mysql start

but iam not sure about my comment because iam a Ubuntu user ! If you dont find mysql as comment you can use the tabulator to find the right one.

E.g:
you write this-> /etc/init.d/my[tabulator]
you get like this-> /etc/init.d/mysql

in my example you dont write [tabulator] you must press it ok?
