My guess about how you'd do this would be:
    1. Go to an empty continent, and send a "hello" message
    2. Somehow figure out which function the "hello" gets sent to using whatever magic tools you have at your disposal (ollydebug and process explorer?)
    3. Request a reaver, and see what message gets send to that same function
    4. Use some other tool so that you can, for example, type in "reaver, plz" in chat, and have your function replace the chat message with the reaver-request-message

Is that the right basic idea? How hard is it to do this if I basically only know how to operate tsearch/MHS/ArtMoney? I think it would be fun to try.

I'm guessing the basic idea is that you simply send the server a message saying you want X equipment, and since the client is only supposed to be able to send that message at a terminal, the server agrees and gives you that equipment.
I'd be interested in replicating this, but I used to do this shit back in the days of Game Wizard, DOS, and debug and thus I'm a little behind the times.

I get the idea that you want to send a message to the server, like maybe a chat msg that says "hello", but then intercept the plain text "hello"-chat-message, and replace it with say the plain text "give me a reaver"-message before it gets to the send/receive function.

I haven't done much game hacking since Never Winter Nights 12 years ago when I was 15, but I was inspired by the recent rash of pull hacks to figure out how it works. I get the idea now, and its a little lame, since as far as I can tell, all it does is:
    1. Set your location to some open space (i.e. set your location to an x,y,z, of your choosing)
    2. Set everyone else's location to right in front of you and freeze them there (which I'm imagining is just a set of 200 x/y/z coordinates that are in fixed locations)
    3. Shoot

I was curious to see what other hacks people had come up with that are a little more clever than freezing a variable that gives you an advantage, and saw your post about sending custom messages to the server to give you equipment/vehicles.
