Can somebody confirm this regarding Mabis files?

I am currently make a fan game which not even going online nor is it even multiplayer. I so I've been studying Mabis files and this is what I got so far:

Mabinogi files:
Pmg = Models thus it need a set or frm file.

-Set = Can be used for as Frm files thus it seems only buildings use
them. Prolly a multiable or a "set" of frm files

Frm = Char, mobs and npc seems to be using these.
It seems to be the outlet of the model
where the pmg is parts to fill it.

Dds = Dds is a common file format its just for GUI and textures.

-Rgn = It seems to be from ASSS,
I think the file a list and placement of where the enties.

-Area = .Area seems to be from Triangle. Area files is, by jugding the
name, files which jugde by name is the raw Terrian.

This can also be used for others to look at who knows maybe we get a private server up.

If you're making a game, do yourself a favor and don't use devCAT's file formats.

Private server projects already exist, sooooo...

Oh, and you are required to have absolutely NONE of these files to run a private server. They are strictly client-only.*

PMG stands for Pleonie Mesh Group. It's exactly that: A group of meshes.

* Aside from Area files, which can be used for bounds checking serverside, though that's not required for a basic server...

Mabinogi uses the "pleione engine," which is pretty obscure and not very available... If you're making a game, I don't see any reason why you'd be studying Mabinogi's file formats. If you want to look at a completed game for reference, find something more mainstream/documented/known, or better yet, open source. There are plenty of choices.

I heard Unreal Engine is a pretty good way to start learning how to make video games you gotta have a lot of passion to do something like this. I hope you can create art, sound effects (or you can try stocks), stats and formulas, storyline (The only best way to make a storyline is to never make the main character a Mary Sue), and much much more.


If unreal is 2hard4u. You can go low tech: Panda3D. It uses Python coding and Python is one of the most easiest language out there, or as so I've heard.

Well this hypothesis is probably posted somewhere on this site that I can't find or somebody that has experience in hacking already thought of this and knows it will not work, but I have not seen a thread talking about it, so here it is. If I start War Rock then i use task manager (ctrl + alt + del) and i end process PnkBstrA.exe / PnkBstrB.exe, would it just close PunkBuster and it wont detect anything? Or at least anything it did not detect yet and won't scan my computer ? Simple Terms...
