Someone want to point the right direction for Mod package to work?

I know you guys get this a lot. But im not used this kinda stuff. I just need one person to seriously take some time and take me thru it step by step. I get how to make some basic mods to work but when i downloaded a mod package (complete with everything) im just clueless. PM please?
