[Guide] Your first Character

Hey,
Many of the people which I helped to play Mabinogi made many mistakes when making their first Character. So I made this Guide to prevent further mistakes.

1.) Server
Choose which ever Server you like. Here some Information about them:

Mari - Most populated Server, people here are said to be 50/50 nice and mean.
Tarlach - Also pretty populated, nice people, most E*pvpers-Users are here.
Ruari - Well populated, pretty neutral.
Alexina - Newest server, low population.


2.) The Race
It's recommended to make your first Character a Human, since (At least as Human.) you can make a free Character for each race.

So if you take a Human, you can also make an FREE Elf and a FREE Giant.
If you choose Elf or Giant as first Char, you gotta pay for that.


3.) The Age
The Age depends on your likes.

Upon creation a character gets an amount of AP which is his age minus 10.
(e.g. 10 years - 0 AP; 12 years - 2 AP; 17 years - 7 AP)

AP received upon aging:
10 -> 11 - 5AP
-> 12 - 5AP
-> 13 - 4AP
-> 14 - 4AP
-> 15 - 3AP
-> 16 - 3AP
-> 17 - 2AP
-> 18 - 2AP
..
-> 21 - 2AP
-> 22 - 1AP
...
-> 25 - 1AP
-> 26+ - 0AP
This applies to all races.
So for the ones of you who can't do maths:
You make a 10 year old char, you get 32 AP just from aging up to 20.
If you make a 17 year old char, you get 7AP + 6AP from aging up to 20.
Now if you think about it, you have a 10y old meaning you have a harder time leveling up. It takes you 10 weeks until you can do a free rebirth, until that point you should
have reached a decent level, but due to your noobie weakness its hard to get a high level.
If you take a 17 y old char, you have a head start strenght wise. You can reach a decent level within the 3 weeks it takes you to age 20 easily. Then you can rebirth back to 10 and get stuff like the Bear slayer at 10 title with ease.


4.) The Look
Just choose a Style you like.



That's it for now, just wanted to clear Things up a bit, since a lot of Newbies took Non-Humans as first Char.

Did you forget the 7 AP bonus for making a 17 year old char or do you get the AP bonus at any age when starting?

As much as I know, you get the AP-Bonus at any age when starting.

Yea... he totally did... No actually you get 1 AP per starting age over 10.
That actually makes you miss out a bunch of AP if you'd age up weekly.
But since rebirths are free at age 20, its recommended to choose a 17 year old character.
You have a quick 7 AP from the start, you get 1 AP from 17 -> 18 (?).
You can level up faster. You can rebirth within 3 weeks at 20.

When I rebirth at Age 10, I get 5 AP per aging.

The older I get, the less AP I get, thats how it's for me.

When I age from 17 to 18, I get only 2 or 3...

So if I choose Age 10, I usually get around 20+ AP until Age 20.
But when I choose Age 17, I only get Around 10 AP until Age 20.

Thats how it works for me, I tried it all until making my awesome Main.
