You were claiming that the file he gave was actually a keylogger when it was claimed to be something else. That's an aspect that would make it illegal since it would be gathering information without the user's consent, you were accusing him of trying to keylog somebody while not telling them what was being done, so you were accusing him of doing something that could land him in jail.

The tutorial I posted does not involving hacking a server or stealing information as far as legality.

• For the hacking part, that implies unauthorized access. In this case my tutorial assumes you're playing Mabinogi through the client and your nexon account, which are both authorized forms of accessing nexon's servers.
  
  
• As far as stealing information, nothing I posted pertains to stealing information.
  • I show how to log, which is simply keeping a copy of packets already sent to you or from you, meaning in one case they're already being sent to you from nexon's servers, and in the other case it's data you sent out.
  • I show how to modify party parameters, which is a built-in function to the client and server accessible normally through the party window in the client.

Nowhere does my guide list any sort of server hacking or information stealing, or how to crash them or anything illegal like that. It's an informative guide on how to use alissa that uses a simple packet send edit for the example.
