M1 is ok-ish if you play on 1080p 110-120 fps normally.
As 1440p 240fps user, I skipped M1 devices and went for Mac Mini M2 8GB RAM.
You can mount it on back of your monitor (if you have VESA panel) and use bgx there. I have connected it with Mini USB-C with my monitor, meanwhile my main PC is connected via displayport. So I keep running both devices and just change output source if I need to do something on my main Windows PC.
Anyways, BGX has just released their public undetected version, so we will see if you still need that Mac.
