Can Riot see private messages ?

Hello, i sold my account and i created another one.
One of my friend told this in private chat : "Hey, i heard you sold the account".
I didn't answered to him and, after that, i canceled the chat. Do you think they have access to players' private chat? Could I have problems?

Sure, they have the possibility. If you can see the message, then riot too. They save all messages on a huge database, so you are able to chat and read the chat days ago.
If he doesn‘t say any account name, and if you don‘t talk about illegal things, I guess riot doesn‘t care then. They don‘t check of anyone the chat, unless if they suspect something.

In my opinion, the chances of you getting banned because something like that has been said is really low. Think of how many logs riot has to go through to catch one sold account.
