They always threaten players around this time of the season because a lot of them consider buying an elo-boost. However there's no guarantee that this threat can turn into a serious problem.

It's bullshit.

If the booster knows what he is doing, riot have absolutely no evidence to throw a ban.
On the other hand, there are alot of elo boosters not using VPNs from the clients country.
When you order a boost, you just have to make sure you order from the right booster that knows how to avoid getting spotted by riot.

using VPN changes your ip just to another , so it will show acc was logged in by different IP than the account owner so it isnt working anyway if you havent noticed :}

its still other ip than the account owner , to make it more easy to udnerstand i will tell you an example

you do wear black reebook shoes, if your friend will wear BLACK SAME COLOR nike shoes those are 2 totally different unique shoes
that has been said alot of the times , different ip is different no matter if its the same country or not , booster could be from the same country and wouldnt need to use VPN

you guys looking for excuse to make it look safe but it isnt , might be just a riot way of scaring ppl , but pls stop make this posts about how VPN is safe it is doing nothing , ip is still different from the base of few ip your client which is account owner is using if he has not 1 stable ip but few varianty of those .

Exactly, in case they'd look into it, it would look suspicious if someone traveled into another country within a few hours and all of sudden climbed the ladder rapidly and then traveled back.

i know sir you just wanna make yourself safe and think that your potential customers are safe , but i will repeat it last one time , vpn isnt making anyone safe

they are checking IP not the country , if the ip is different it is the same for RIOT if the person was playing from Bangladesz and Ukraine , or from Russia and Russia with 2 different ip's

i guess it looks normal for you that person lets say from london is having an ip he was playing for 2 years and suddenly in 1 week hes been playing from Bournemouth and climbbed ladder like 2 tiers from different ip, Riot team isnt stupid so dont make them look like that

only hope for ppl is that Riot is just trying to scare ppl off and will end up as before , if they will get to this case serious i can guarantee you that those Vpn ppl will get bannned just as the others :}

im out of this thread , you guys can keep responding to yourself and try make you think you are safe due to VPN which is still giving you random other ip from same country sometimes and totally different city etc

Well obvious those banwaves will come nothing New guess nothing anyone should be suprised about^^.

But funny is only one profits out of it are the boosters^^, because then for example like the named 70,000 accounts get punished means 70,000 New customer on market^^

P.S. : I got also 2x banned by boosting an Own Smurf and riot said i was eloboosting them. i am sure they dont even have a real plan more looks like Close Eyes, run arround a Stick and aim with the Finger to the first "account" Person they see and ban it :P more funny is i lved them by hand 1-30 on my own without changing 1x the ip

I actually think that Riot is going to be banning people since they even announced the amount of people which are going to be punished. Also to be honest, it's fairly easy for them to find out if someone gets boosted or not, even if you use a VPN from the Clients country.

Highly doubt they'll ban a lot of players, just a few.. to set an example and scare off potential customers on purchasing a boost.

Also what this means is if this the end of solo q boosting then gg but there's also Duo Q now which means boosting will be more expensive.
