In the old system there is/was no term that forbids using a bot to level up refs. Even though Riot banned people from that 1.0 system...

You used to get lvl 5 bots, which is much easier.
On the other side u got ip boosts instead of flat ip.

lvl 10 needs 7 times more exp than lvl 5.
