I'm not sure if this rule still exist, but few month ago it was impossible to send a gift when you had more than 50 000 RP. It's a riot rule to 'protect your RP' (or at least that's the official reason, it's pretty clear that they want to protect their economy more than anything else). So, if you buy it to gift yourself you will maybe have to spend 21 000 RP before gifting, and you will have only 50 000 RP gift.
Not sure if this rule still exist.
