What is the story behind the last chaos source leak?

Ok, we have a lot of release, March, June, November and many others.
But where this is started? And how also EP1 source code has been leaked and nobody has original cash server ?

Just a curiosity..

Well people had access to barunson severs and thats how they got the files. And basically the ones who had access would then share/sell the sources/binaries.

Idk tho if a cash server was ever shared or sold.

the source code leaks most likely came from someone who had authorization for Barunson servers or it's publishers like Bilagames
Also worth mentioning thing is documentation that was leaked with the files shows that their passwords were usually very weak and if they were not servers in a private network, someone who had their seoul ip ranges could access them

the first leaked files are dated at 02-2005 and came from chinese version
at that time, the publisher was M Dream Online

The EP2 Beta code from 2009 was leaked from a student in Korea or China.

So far as i know there was a lesson/workshop on a school where Barunson Games Inc. was invited to introduce the students into game developing and they brought this beta code for them to see what it looks like or whatever and afterwards one of the students leaked the code in a Chinese forum which is known for sharing/leaking server files or source codes from games.

I might be completely wrong tho, that's some stuff i heard years ago.

The funny thing is that at the time the code was leaked, some members of the lc community got actually access to the account of the user who shared the code and after downloading the files they deleted the thread, so that no one else could download it.. that's typical.. but luckily it got re-uploaded.

I think that the compiled EP1-Files might belong to the 2009 Code (and to the above mentioned story) but compiled for the correct version, im not sure but i could ask aqualung, since he shared them back then.

The first leak of compiled EP2-Files was kind of funny, if you believe the rumors than you might think that the Administrator of 777-Last Chaos made a nice Halloween gift for the community but that's probably not true, so far as i know
dsfgd (known as Falo) had the files from the 777-Administrator and shared them with his friends and they kept sharing it until it reached publicity..

I think that the 777-Admin and Eternia had some source codes, but im not quite sure.

One thing i can probably say for sure is that, Falo had the files from the 777-Admin because he had to fix things for him, like the negative guild xp lock...

Falo never had the files from the 777 Admin. He had the same public files everyone had. We had Mystery Last Chaos (Which was from the 777 Admin aswell). And the 777 Admin (who also had a big GTA Server) never gave out any files. He was super cautious with it. We had to request specific single files and maybe got them. We also did not even have access to the auth_db for example. Thats why the server went down, after someone shut down paymentwall from the 777/Mystery Admin. We couldn't fix anything. Also we would have had a lot more cool features if we had files.



After the admin (Who was chinese + gay and had a pig as a pet) quit Last Chaos, he sended us finally the LC Source code. But someone from our skype group that was a GM? on 777 Last Chaos decided (on its own??) it would be a good idea to release the source code on Elitepvpers. We regreted this some hours later because we could have made finally a really good server privately. But then everyone had new files and one server after another got released.

By the way: Falo discovered the negative guild xp lock. He never wanted to fix it. He was in fact really upset, that someone from our skype group leaked it privately to other people.
I remember 2 times that falo was upset: Leaking the guild xp exploit and leaking his LC developer studio.

I thought only domain was registered to a resident of China.


Also a few months ago I dived into the genesis of this leak (2009) and figured out there is a high probability that it was from a net code developer called "KwonYongDae" (in source he was marking himself as "kwon" and "KwonYongDae") by checking metadata, files that are created during compilation and a little bit research using OSINT.

Okey so in the end, you guys got the files from him, thats what i said, but i thought he had them
much earlier because he used to flex around with pictures of some cpp files..

There was some rumors that CrazyApple had something to do with that, but i dont remember it, since i wasn't active anymore.

And there was also rumors going around that the 777 admin couldn't even fix the negative guild exp lock lol, which is kind of crazy because thats just one line of code, so he asked falo and sent him that single files which he needed.

But one thing is true for sure and thats the part about the deleted sources from soke163.. that describes the mindset of the guys who was part of the falo club pretty good..

Well, thats not really an argument, if you say you guys could have finally made a really good server, than people would have played on it, doesen't matter if there are 100 bad or basic others lol

I remember that we had the account from a GM on mystery, that wasn't maybe you?

Mystery and 777 got destroyed by me and some friends, if you remember the guild "Die Schlümpfe"..
We sold more cash/craft items than the 777 admin at one point, at the end i was going thru the server and was buying every single pet for any price lol

Does somebody know the reason why the water/glass shaders in lastchaos do not work anymore ? (it would be nice to know if its a software/driver or hardware problem)
