Linux hosts and ddos protection ?

Hey guys, I was wondering which hosts are good, for example is the webtropia good ? Could you list me host in case someone knows more. also, is there a solution to prevent DDoS attacks ?

There are no good DDoS protection. You just need 3x15Gbps and you can get all Servers down.

You can't prevent it. Just deal with it. Try working with Iptables OR- set up a good Filter, which OVH uses (not really effective but it can prevent attack from noobies.)

You need to put hardware in front of your server. Working from a software level will do you no good. There are hosts that can block a majority of DDoS attacks, tho with that kind of security comes a high price. For now you can use deflate (software level) to mitigate small attacks done from home users.

You can get a large enough server from OVH to run a 250+ player server. LastChaos server files aren't that demanding.

the lowest system for an LC Server with 1 channel is 1 core,~560-600MB RAM and ~10GB HDD.
