Want to learn to code / open server
Hello folks,
I`ve been a Kalonline player since release of Naraeha and played mostly int server until about the time the first few people were able to access VoD.
After that I always been a few years a dry kaloholic, then played pservers for a bit, then stopped again - came back for steam kal ... and so on.
I loved and still love the KalOnline game itself. But pservers and intserver are mostly corrupted, greedy or just bugged/****** coded.
Since I cannot work in my profession anymore due to health problems, I got alot of time on my hand (which will not change in the next few years/decades :P) and thought....why not start learning to code and create a server I personally would enjoy the most? I am not interested in earning money with Kalcash or some bullshit like that - I`m in no place where I`d need that extra money, I just wanna do this for my love for KalOnline.
This is not about bragging, I`m ofc not rich, just got the monthly support I need to enjoy my life and be able to concentrate fulltime on hobbys. I only mention this because I wanna ensure you, that I`m really interested in building a very good KalOnline server - not one of those servers which last 1 month because I`d only care bout Kalcash.
So my first question would be: What languages do I have to learn for beeing able to code KalOnline private server?
And: Is there a good platform you can recommend for learning these?
Last but not least: How long you think will it take to learn coding good enough to be able to run a game like KalOnline? Well - I`m not that naive to think I`d be able to learn it within just a few weeks/months...it`s probably gonna take years I guess?
I`d be grateful for every help I can get.

as twissi said, ********, u can still find some tutorials etc here on epvpers. But most are tutorials of making a hacktool from years ago etc (u might still learn something out it).
But u might start with some basic c/c++ tutorials on youtube (thenewboston) etc?
Cuz if you got no coding background and you are going to read pages of code, it might look like chinese

You will need to learn C++ Basics, Assembly, Reverse Engineering and hooking.
After you learn check r a g e z o n e .com for KalOnline Sources
You can code for KalOnline in less than 6 months

Hey,

C# is the answer to that. The simple, low-end answer. But you need to know more than just standard C#. Do you need to know some kind of SQL API? Or .NET?
Thanks,
