Here we are facing in the RED CORNER: AMD FX-8350 & Gigabyte Radeon HD7970 3GB
and in the BLUE CORNER: Intel Core i5 4470 Haswell & Gigabyte Geforce GTX770 2GB

The rules are simple:

NO FANBOYISM

Who will win?
Who will get the most fps on Battlefield 3?
Who will get the most fps on Crysis 3?

I have an intel and a nvidia. But I think that the AMD combo will win.

BLUE CORNER wins , because of the newer and better graphicscard. The CPU is in Games faster than the 8350. In rendering the 8350 is much better.

If you are talking about an 7970ghz the 8core will get a little bit more fps in crysis.

but if you are comparing both systems in other games who only use 2 or 4 cores the gtx 770 ist slightly better in performence.

And its more siltent and cooler.

Its a question about test settings..using Nvidia FXAA instead of MSAA..

FXAA the red corner gonna be ahead..MSAA will bring nvidia onto first place

Whatever you do, do not go with a Haswell CPU.

Take an Ivy Bridge one (i5 3470) on socket 1155. It'll have less power consumption and about the same performance but it might also be cheaper than the Haswell CPU.
Overall the better choice.
Take the GTX 770. For its price there's nothing that can beat it at the moment (in terms of performance the HD 7970 GHz Edition is about the same, but its less power efficient and does not support features like adaptive V-Sync, FXAA, advanced (GPU accelerated) PhysX that could be a nice additional "candy" here).

Just by the way, I'm not an Intel fanboy cause even I'm using an AMD CPU at the time.
