The game itself is on a bit of a downward spiral with activity. If you check Kama and Legacy you can see that. It is just summer timer really, happens with every game every summer but is just more noticeable due to the already lacking population of Guild Wars.
On the botting front, honestly for me at least it holds little reward. Everything has been done before, and if you want something that is an actual drop (Not just cash/rare items to feed the vicious cycle of making money to make more money to no end) it will take you many many weeks of botting the same thing over and over because of the abysmal "Loot scalling" that just gets worse and worse the less people play.
