Can I get banned for receiving gold?
I bought a LOT of gold these past 2 weeks. Probably 5000.Yesterday 1000. I haven't been banned or anything. As I am reading on the forums, you can get banned for sending a lot of gold so the gold sellers are in danger of getting banned. But I that get the money, am I in danger?

Honestly, I rarely see bans for goldselling/ buying, and I've traded many over the years, and I think most of sellers around here would tell the same.
Personally, I always write a title and a content to the mails where I put the golds (so it's not empty, and I guess, less busted?), and I always try to switch of account after a few weeks of trading.
I think it's the strict minimum for any sellers/ buyers who want to stay discret.

I don't think you could get banned, but as myrobotnuts said, don't leave anything empty.

Q: Can I get banned for receiving gold?
A: Yes, you can get banned for gold buying.
Quote:
The Rules cover such basic expectations as:
Don’t swear or spam or break any laws.
Don’t use a name or guild acronym that would offend someone.
Don’t harass other players.
Don’t link to pornography or advertise in the game.
Buy and sell items or services only through legitimate means authorized by Guild Wars 2 and us.
Report hacks and exploits and do not use them yourself.

So what happens when someone breaks the Rules of Conduct?
In the interests of keeping things pleasant for the majority of players, we’ve set up a system to deal with lapses in behavior. We think you’ll find the system is fair, balanced, and reasonable.
The system involves two types of administrative action: temporary account suspensions and permanent account terminations. Those who fail to observe the Rules of Conduct usually will have an administrative “mark” placed on their Guild Wars 2 account that results in a temporary account suspension. However, in the case of an extreme breach-such as using a game exploit, attempting to hack the servers, or acquiring a large number of marks and moving into a “frequent violation” status-the account will be permanently closed.
When an account is temporarily suspended, the player is unable to access his account for a specific period of time. Under normal circumstances, a player can clear marks from his/her account and eliminate the risk of lengthy suspension simply by obeying the Rules of Conduct. On the other hand, if a player accrues another mark on his account within a relatively short period of time, the subsequent suspension will be longer. A record is retained
of each player’s complete account history, and accounts that are frequently involved in violations of the Rules of Conduct and/or the Guild Wars 2 User Agreement (the “User Agreement”) are subject to termination.

The real accounts that are running the chance to get banned is the ones running the bots to farm the gold. Anet rarely seems to check to see where the gold the bot farmed goes to or who sends you the gold. They just ban the bot account and are done with it.
In total I've bought over 5000 gold for GW2 and never had any problems. If it's a large order the seller sends it from multiple account. Anet just doesn't seem to care.
More proof on that I've bought hack accounts and used them for botting and sent the gold to my main account and all Anet did was ban the account botting. Also to prove how much Anet doesn't care on some of those hack accounts I've bought that wasn't good for botting but had a good amount of gold and/or stuff, I've sold everything in their bank, broke down the characters armor and sold everything leaving the account completely strip and sent the gold to my main account and never had any trouble with Anet.
