the purpose is to bypass the gameguard of the game...

hmm...
hackers and cheat engines need to bypass certain software (in this case, gameguard) because that software would not allow us to change the game. it would not allow us to cheat or to be able to use cheat engines.
from the term itself, we need to pass that type of software so we can use cheats undetected.

hey, can gameguard's patching be cancelled? or could you do something like downgrade the version of the gameguard?

you cannot cancel gameguard's patch 'cause if you do the client will not run as well...

and about your second question..

there's no way you can downgrade or degrade the version of gameguard since everytime it patch it regularly check its version if there's any changes and if it finds one... it will just dl the latest patch...
