Magnus Dan doesn't have a super armor. He cannot be grabbed because of his height. Nephilim on the other hand has a super armor (he cannot be stunned like Dan).
If you use Striker/Slasher it's easier to kill Ryan if he transforms into the Dan. Just abuse your dash attack. Stay close to him (but not too close) and when he land after jump attack, finish skill, etc. just slash through him. Use 1mp if necessary or 2mp if possible to quickly lower his hp. His mp recovery rate is lowered, so he won't use mp skills so often to kill you while you're dashing at him, so abuse it. And pray that he won't realize his mistake of transforming.

The only thing defining Magus Dan is his ability to negate Grabs. Aside from that, he still flinches which is enough if you like to combo.
Alternatives would be using characters that can Block, are Ranged or use stun lock pets.
