No need to sticky this thread if there's no space for it or if the mods can't make adjustments. let's just keep it alive and flaming just like in my other thread about the necklace stuff so that it could always be easily noticed by the newcomers.

CE will remain on for the rest of net history as long as online games flourish.
The folks might not be the same coders in the future anymore but it will continue to last.
The need for such "conveniences" is a necessity and cheating is one of it.

i have a question though.. i wonder why they made a 32 bit and 64 bit versions of OS.. does it apply that "slow" computers work better with 32 bit and "fast" computers are better with 64 bit? then does that mean that having a "fast" PC with only 32 bit installed not that good?

Sorry for the barrage of questions.. I'm just curious since I'm not well versed with windows OS.. XD

It's simple, 32bits came out 1st

followed by 64. it's like win 1990 , win2000, winxp > winvista > win7.

^but even then, windows 7 is a new release but they have both 32 bit and 64 bit versions..

its all about compatibility issues..many older programs are incompatible with the new 64bit technology thats why windows7 still needs to provide 32bit version since many of the hard and softwares still run under this..
"slow" computers most probably are built for 32bit os therefore cannot function on 64bit os.."fast" pcs that can run on either os does not need to worry about performance quality..the computer world is still adapting to this new technology and in the future 32bit os will be phased out

Now that's more clear.. so that's the reason why some old games doesn't work on win7 64 bit while it works on 32 bit.. now i get it why most net cafe's preferred installing 32 bit so that all of their games would still be compatible.. thanks for that explanation burugu.. ^^

64-bit systems are much more expensive to build and are harder to maintain than 32-bit ones. the only drawback of the 32-bit processors and systems is that they can only hold and use a maximum of 4 GB RAM. In theory, 64-bit systems can hold as much as 1 Terabyte of RAM (Just imagine how fast could that be if the 1TB RAM existed) and your mobo must also support a 64-bit processor.

Device drivers for your system would also be an issue. You won't be able to use the drivers which you already have.

But program compatibilities isn't much of an issue now, windows 7 Ultimate x64 can make most 32-bit programs and software run. And if it's still not enough, there are also third-party solutions for that now.

So if I had the cash and time to re-organize my files and everything, I'd switch to a 64-bit system. I might also use a tri-boot config so that I'd have a 32-bit xp sp3, a 64-bit 7 ultimate and linux mandriva.

Yep. appparently, 64-bit capable processors are much more expensive than the ordinary ones. That goes as well for the motherboards and the Operating System Installation Discs. But if you got the "pirated" OS discs and the activator, that should save you around 10-15k pesos/php.

64-bit processors prices start at 5k above, mobos that support 64-bit processors start at 7k above.

You could still use any ordinary hard disks and ad-on cards, provided you have the 64-bit drivers for the cards.
