if u have high memory in ur PC u can boot up to 2 OS which means u can boot i
w/o deleting your files

If you have another partition in your hard drive you could install win7 there just like what I did and so I have both xp and win7 in my computer but if you don't have another partition you could create a virtual hard disk file and install windows 7 from there with this method you can still have all of your files from xp accessible while in windows7 even though you have windows 7 installed in your computer

BTW,
windows 7 ultimate and windows 7 enterprise are the only windows 7 editions that can boot from a virtual hard disk
search in google there are a lot of tuts about installing win7 without reformatting your computer

If your hard disk are partitioned into 2 or more then set 1 hard disk as back up..
