bruteforce best option?

Ok, not 100 pc sure this is the right section but I'll give it a try. I am not much of a programer or bot maker or anything like that.


I've found some various bugs in games (some of which I posted here) and I've made some macro's for stuff... But I have very little exp in actual hacking or programing.


I am incredibly bored right now and have nothing much better to do so I thought I'd give a try at cracking my old conquer accounts password (eq is still on it, dont care about the actual account. its a noob)


So far I've found a fair amount of information but very few actual tools for such a thing.


If nothing to do with programs I would like to at least find out what the best method would be.


seing as its a mmo password and I DO know the username and such I assume a "dictionary attack" would be faster/more effective? or would a brute force be faster? or a different method entierly...

I have a few computers I could put to work for it (around 10 or so right now..) so hopefully that would cut down the time it would take.




Basicly the reason I am doing this is.

A: boredom it would be something to try and would learn new things even if I never did get the password
and
B: I want those items back. Some of them where quite decent.



Any help would be apreciated (sorry I dont speak german, I can try using babblefish or something but its not that accurate.... english would be apreciated.. ps:

It really depends on what you are attacking. In the case of a MMO or MMORPG where you know the accounts i would suggest you to use a dictionary wordlist.
Many ppl just use a simple word.

And if you are looking for tools i can only suggest or . However these programs can online hack websites. You will need something like a macro inserting your combolist automatic into the client of the game.
You can try to crack the accounts by trying to hack the website login of the game if something like that exists.
