Hopefully this can be made into a "larger" topic that would contain "everyones" programs
Yes, the topic says it all...I'm trying to "start" some games (sendpacks and such little things, hex editing I've already tried). So I'm asking YOU what do you use "mostly" or "everytime" you hack, and do also list the items that you use a little less. Please post the programs in small groups...(ex. "packetsniffer" or "editor" or such, you get the idea...hopefully) I'll tell what I use, tell me if my programs are bad or should I get other programs instead of these/more programs...Oh yeh, please also post what game you play, if some of the tools are only for your game or such.
see thats what makes me mad these same people who sit there talkin about gettin rid of noobies and dumping them off the site and here they are acting all noobie about a guy whose trying to learn how to contribute to the site. imho anyone flaming the original poster is a noob.
Packet logging: WPE Pro. (I don't use ethereal, WinPCap can **** things up when programming low level sockets. Nice app though).
I personally use my own packet logger. Not as advanced as Ethereal, but its on par with WPE, and of course, I can modify any of it.
Some simple useful tools: sysinternals.com (Proc Explorer, TCPView, Filemon etc).
Most importantly: A HLL compiler and an Assembler.
mingw (Code::Blocks or DevC++IDE), NASM. Anything works.
