At first i got this error:
(It means it cannot find sqlncli.msi and not sqlndi.msi, it just looks weird.)
The .msi datas are at this location, like it is shown here:
I don't know the reason why it's showing me this error all the time so i thought i should look for windows upgrades and indeed there was some.
(Side info: It's an older root running on Windows Server 2012 R2 hosted by someone else n i got access with an own Admin account which i use from time to time)
I'm not able to contact him by what reason ever at this moment, but i figured there's a problem with updating this server. Had to activate the services which i believe was 'Windows Installer' and/or "Windows Modules Installer".
But there is still a problem with the updating progress in the SQL Server installer itself:
maybe that has something to do with the overall problem.
However, after i installed some updates,,:
(I installed the security update manually, after it failed three times in a row like it's shown here)
I was able to get to another point (i believe it was after the SP3 (KB45055218) installation) where i'm getting this error now:
i'm not quite sure if that's a new erorr which comes in front of the other or if the first one got fixed and that's a later error which was here even before i installed the SP.
This data also exists but i figured i am getting this error when i try to open it by myself:
I also tried to download a newer installer earlier, but i got excactly the same problems as shown here.
And now i hope i could find some help here since either i'm not able to find some infos for it online cause there are no infos about it or i'm just not able to google correctly.
I would appreciate some help of you!
Edit 1: I tried to uninstall everything, every folder and the registrys, restarted the machine and now i get tons of more errors of those.
Also there is an error with the registry:
"Cannot find registry key 'SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Microsoft SQL Server\120\ConfigurationState"
and don't know how to fix this one aswell.
Well yea, i just deleted the registry key for that one aswell, but i was sure it's getting recreated when i'm trying to reinstall the program.
Edit 2:
The installation works way smoother on a new created user but it still stucks on a point and says:
Locating the SQL Server Brower services component failed with windows installer return code '2'.
Edit 3:
Now i got it to this point:
which leads to an completed installation with this two failed features:
