Budding hacker in need of a tutor/mentor.

Ok, so I sound like a complete dumbass with that title, but it's all I could come up with. I need an experienced hacker to help me out. Preferably one with experience with CO2. That's my main game. Basically, I want to learn through doing. for example, I'll come up with an idea, then ask how to do it. For example, I want to make a hack that allows one to have their VPs shown in the Status menu. I don't even know if this is possible, but if it is, it sprouts a load of questions:

-How do I hack the client to display a value that I want it to, such as VPs.
-How can I find where VPs are stored in memory? Or if they are stored server-side, how can I gather this information?
-Did anything I say in that last question make even a bit of sense?

Additional info about me:
-I know VERY BASIC C++. This goes as far as file streams, and includes arrays, variables, conditionals, pointers. However, I have NO KNOWLEDGE of memory functions.
-I am a fast learner when it comes to programming and the like.

You should do some self-paced-learning before requesting the help of someone who is more experienced.

Although the most current stuff is non-public, there should be enough resources for you to get a good overview of what is possible and how it can be achieved. Of course, your early projects will not be perfect and you will surely get some accounts banned - but it will also show others that you are serious about what you want to achieve. And at this point you will automatically find people that will help you.

That is how it works - the "i ask, you answer"-thing does not work from the ground up.
