Colormanagement

Hello guys,

I've got a question about color management.

When I save a file to .png it looks much darker than in photoshop.
At all my new monitor looks much darker than my old one too.

I havn't done any settings to colormanagement yet.
That concerns Windows, Photoshop and my monitor.

Can you tell me what settings I have to do?
I've got a book about this subject, but I didn't had time to read it yet.

I hope you can help me.

As you already mentioned you should calibrate your monitor. But Iīve got an idea.

Probably you just imagine the change. Maybe the surrounding color of your document influences your view.

Is your surrounding color 50% grey? (like this

Can you preclude the color space (CMYK, sRGB + profile) as a problem?

No. At the moment I don't know anything about color spaces and how they work etc.

Also, be sure you save your image files with a color profile (sRGB/AdobeRGB/etc.)

Color Management implicates a lot of factors. Calibrating your monitors with a sensor like a Spyder, working with printer profiles, and of course saving the image information of your files correctly.

This eBook was a good crash course for me:

I'm using sRGB.

I'm not sure if I want to pay like 150€ "just" to calibrate my monitor.
Design is "just" a hobby, I'm not sure if it's worth it.

btw. I have a curved monitor, does this Spyer-thing work there too?
I don't think so.

You really need a calibrated monitor if you do a lot of printing.
Otherwise your monitor neednīt be fully calibrated because on the web every user sees the image a little bit different.

So, any progress on your "image export problem" ?
