Okay guys, this is my second thread, with a slightly different topic than the last one.
I'm ganna get the Wacom Bamboo tablet in about ten-fourteen days, but until then I need practice. So, I figured some old school pen and paper drawing would do the trick.
I don't have a lot of experience in drawing, but with patience and practice, I'll manage.
So, any tips? To speed things up, I'm ganna name a few options and you tell me what's good and what's not.
A sketchbook? I'm new to drawing, yet I like to keep things plain, simple and organized. So, do I get a plain, white A4 size notebook, or should I get one with squares to get use to dimensions, shapes and sizes? (This is also a great way to track my progress.)
Drawing equipment. This may seem like a very dumb question to the lot of you, but I'm going to risk making a fool of myself and ask anyway.
Should I stick to a plain pencil, or should I use something more? At this stage, I don't feel like I should use stuff like sharpies, brushes and what not.
I think that getting shapes and forms would be easier with measurement equipment, but that won't make me any better, should I improvise and do this without any additional equipment?
Drawing images in front of me VS using my memory VS using my imagination. This is a rather funny question. What's better (or how did you learn), should I get a simple image on my screen and redraw it, take a quick look and try to redo it with as little peeking at the screen as possible, or should I let my imagination go wild and try to transfer what's in my head onto a piece of paper?
Anything you'd recommend?
Fun-facts about me:
I have very little experience when it comes to drawing, anyone can learn Photoshop or any other program, but I'd like to be able to do more than that.
My right hand tends to shake a bit (and I just happen to be right handed), I don't think that is going to influence my learning process, but it's something you should keep in mind while giving tips.
Thank you for your time.
