Project Unity: The all-in-one console

A huge gamer, and modder, who goes under the name of "Bacteria" has been the creator or the "Swiss army knife" of gaming, the Project Unity.

It took him over 3,500 hours of work to get it all together, by adding 15 classic gaming consoles into one single box and allowing users to play games from 18 different systems, including:
  • Armstrad GX1000
  • Atari 7800
  • Atari 2600
  • Colecovision
  • Intellivision
  • NEC TurboGrafx X
  • NeoGeo MVS
  • NES
  • Super Nintendo
  • Nintendo Gamecube
  • Nintendo 64
  • Sega Dreamcast
  • Sega MegaDrive (Genesis)
  • Sega Master System
  • Sony PlayStation
  • Sony PlayStation 2

To this list, one can add the GameBoy Advance, as Nintengo Gamecube can play emulated games from this hand-held console.

The Project Unity is valued at about $1,075, and provides a single "master controller", one SCART output, one power supply and one custom made switch unit. The unfortunate side of this is that Bacteria, the creator of Project Unity, isn't even considering to sell this, getting us all jealous of this super console.

Interesting creation, yet I wonder if this guy realizes that you can download the games and emulators for them....for free .-.
Sales = pretty much non-existent for him.
Sucks to put so much time into something and get nothing out of it..other than self pleasure I guess?

Well, he isn't interested in making profit out of this, hence why he has said that Project Unity isn't for sale. I personally think that, if I knew how, I'd make one of these for myself as well

To save space for more consoles, maybe?

Well he probably wanted to know, if he could do it.
I think he did it for the challenge.

That is amazing in my opinion. He has all those cool games ready to play. I think even if i wanted to play those games there would be tons of compatibility issues which i think i would be lazy to solve or even google it. Dat thing is **** cool.

That's amazing, I would like to get my hands on such a console. Too bad he won't sell it and I wouldn't pay so much

Same reason VW makes bugatti veyrons for 4mil and sell for 1mil, they made 1khp and a fast top speed that at the time was thought impossible(the topspeed part for a street legal car from the factory meeting all emissions laws).

Hey, so I'm coding a private server... and I was just wondering: Is there a difference between Console Project threading and Application threading? I'm going to add a GUI into the console project if I can't do an Application project for other reasons, so putting the extra thread aside (for the Application running), is there a significant difference? Thanks. Sincerely, Fang
