makcu and ferrum are the exact same in terms of safety, they both offer full mouse pass through (this is the safest it will get for aim devices), however ferrum supports up to 8k polling rate on the mouse.
makcu only supports 1khz afaik, so if you play 2k+ polling rate and dont mind spending like 100$ for a ferrum go for it, if not just get makcu they're cheap asf and just as safe.

arduino is also a good option there are some people offering full passthrough, but id say its less stable in terms of mouse support and such.
