The first one you will need is ResHacker (Resource Hacker) Google it! (for the lazy
)Second you will need an image editing program like Photoshop, Paintshop, or for the seriously lacked in creativity, MSPaint.
Now that you have those your golden.
Back up your current Flyff.exe File. We will be editing this.
Open ResHacker and look for a Tree called IMAGE.
Open IMAGE by pressing the +
Now you will see to more trees called 104 and 105.
First we open 104. Click the Image Resource 1033 and you will see the default Flyff Patcher to your Right. Right click on the image and choose copy. Now open your favorite graphics program and edit.
Once you are satisfied with your edits save it as a jpg or a gif, its your choice (jpeg tends to be cleaner but as a gif you can use transparencies
)Go back to ResHacker and Right click on 1033
Select REPLACE RESOURCE
Click on OPEN FILE WITH NEW RESOURCE and find your newly created skin. And for the Resource Types use IMAGE, 104, 1033
Same thing can be done with the OPTIONS Skin just replace Resource Types with IMAGE 105 1033
Click on FILE/SAVE and your done.
Here is one I did for this example. You are free to use it if you wish
Note: The images are from the previous patcher but the edits still work just the same.
There are numerous things you can do with ResHacker and many other Resource Tools out there. You can change dialogs sizing etc. You can also use this tool to change the in game cursors. Have not yet cracked open the GUI yet as its not a normal resource file.
