Guide: Success, Failures and Effects of Upgrade

I. The Usage of Power Dice

Whenever you use these dices to upgrade, whether the upgrade is successful or unsuccessful, the dice is used up and will not come back. Depending on the level, if the upgrade is unsuccessful, you might lose the item you are upgrading as well as the dice. Note that it is impossible to upgrade jewellery (eg. necklace, earring, rings).

Power Dice 4 [4D]

Reactant: Weapon, Armour (helm, glove, suit, boots)
Product: +1 ~ +5 of the reactant (+0 turns into +1, +1 turns into +2.. etc)
Notes: In the case of a failure when upgrading above +3, the item will be lost

Power Dice 6 [6D]

Reactant: Weapon, Armour (helm, glove, suit, boots)
Product: +6 ~ +10 of the reactant (+6 turns into +7, +7 turns into +8.. etc)
Notes: In the case of a failure, the item will be lost

Power Dice 8 [8D]

Reactant: Suit (not other components of the armour)
Product: A socket is produced (refer to the Socket System AKA Piercing System)
Notes: In the case of a failure, the item will be lost

Power Dice 10 [10D]

Reactant: Suit (not other components of the armour)
Product: A socket is produced (refer to the Socket System AKA Piercing System)
Notes: In the case of a failure, the item will be lost. Though, the power dice 10 has a higher success rate than power dice 8.

Power Dice 12 [12D]

Reactant: Weapon, Armour (helm, glove, suit, boots)
Product: +1~+10 of the reactant (+0~+1....+9~+10...etc)
Notes: In the case of a failure when upgrading above +3, the item will be lost. Though, the power dice 12 has a higher success rate than the power dice 4 and 6.

II. The Usage of Elemental Cards

Cards are split into Lv1~Lv5 and there are five elements, fire, wind, water, earth and electricity.

Level 1 Cards: Candle, Breeze, Rain, Sand, Spark

Reactant: Socket
Product: +2% Socket Effect (refer to Socket System)
Notes: This has a 100% success rate

Level 2 Cards: Torch, Gale, Lake, Stone, Voltage

Reactant: Weapon, Armour (thanks: bistecca =D)
Product: +1~+5 Element on the reactant (this gives the element properties to the weapon, does more damage to what it the element is strong against, does less damage to what it is weak against; opposite for armour)
Notes: In the case of failure when enchanting above +3, the item will be lost.

Level 3 Cards: Flame, Cyclone, River, Desert, Generator

Reactant: Weapon, Armour (unconfirmed)
Product: +6~+10 Element on the reactant (this gives the element properties to the weapon, does more damage to what it the element is strong against, does less damage to what it is weak against; opposite for armour)
Notes: In the case of failure, the item will be lost.

Level 4 Cards: Magma, Storm, Flood, Mountain, Thunder

Reactant: Socket
Product: +4% Socket Effect (refer to Socket System)
Notes: This has a 100% success rate

Level 5 Cards: Volcano, Vacuum, Ocean, Earthquake, Lightning

Reactant: Socket
Product: +5% (actually says +7% on the site) Socket Effect (refer to Socket System)
Notes: This has a 100% success rate

III. The Socket System

The socket system is the placement of cards in the sockets produced by the certain dice. This, in turn, gives certain stat bonuses and there is a maximum of 4 slots that can be produced.

Fire Element
Effect: +2%,+4%, +5% (or +7% on the site) Maximum HP

Wind Element
Effect: +2%,+4%, +5% (or +7% on the site) Maximum FP

Water Element
Effect: +2%,+4%, +5% (or +7% on the site) Maximum MP

Earth Element
Effect: +2%,+4%, +5% (or +7% on the site) Defense

Electricity Element
Effect: +2%,+4%, +5% (or +7% on the site) Attack Power

IV. The Upgrade System

When all components of the armour (helm, gloves, suit, boots) are upgraded to +3 or above, special hidden attributes are added. There is also a glow effect that becomes more apparent as the upgrade level gets higher. These special attributes are outlined below

A Set of +3
Effect: +5% Hit Rate, +3% Block, +3% Magic Damage

A Set of +4
Effect: +10% Hit Rate, +3% Block, +4% Magic Damage

A Set of +5
Effect: +10% Hit Rate, +3% Block, +5% Magic Damage, +5% HPAll Stats +1

A Set of +6
Effect: +20% Hit Rate, +6% Block, +6% Magic Damage, +5% HP, All Stats +1

A Set of +7
Effect: +20% Hit Rate, +6% Block, +7% Magic Damage, +5% HP, All Stats +1

A Set of +8
Effect: +30% Hit Rate, +10% Block, +8% Magic Damage, +10% HP, All Stats +2

A Set of +9
Effect: +30% Hit Rate, +10% Block, +9% Magic Damage, +10% HP, All Stats +2

A Set of +10
Effect: +45% Hit Rate, +15% Block, +10% Magic Damage, +20% HP, All Stats +3

[Note: The set of upgraded items does not necessarily need to be the same "set" (eg. Cloud set, Seraphim set) for the attributes to work]

V. Cash Shop Items

There are certain cash shop items that will give extra bonuses when upgrading your weapons and armours. An elucidation of the function of the items are given below:

Scroll of SProtect
Cost: 400 GPotato for 5 scrolls
Function: When applied to a item, the item will not break in case of a failure. This is for the use of upgrades such as the uses of power dice 4,6,12 and cards lv 2 and 3.

Scroll of GProtect
Cost: 500 GPotato for 5 scrolls
Function: Not to be confused with its seeming counterpart. When applied to a suit, the armour will not break in case of a failure. This is for the use with socketing (piercing) and is used with power dices 8, 10 in the socket window (refer to the socket window in section VI).

Scroll of Smelting
Cost: 300 GPotato for 5 scrolls
Function: When used while upgrading, it increases the chances of success of the upgrade by 10%. Note that the scroll will not increase the success rate of an upgrading above +7 (ie. +7~+8, +8~+9)

VI. The Socket Window

To access to the socket window, you must visit the Weapon Dealer NPC of Flaris, Saintmorning or Darkon. Click on him and select "Item Piercing". There are 3 fields. The highest is the slot in which the suit is placed. Just drag and drop from the inventory. The slot in the middle is where the dice (either Dice 8 or 10) is placed. Again, just drag and drop from the inventory. The lowest is where the GProtect scroll is placed .
And the number under that shows the amount of penya needed to be paid for the item piercing. This varies directly with the level of the armour.

Hawkman Failures

Ok heres mah deal. I've just failed 5 hawkman on 10+4 tamers and one kenta card. Prices went down in game for hawkman to like 50 mill which is very awesome. But these mother fucking cards will not tame. It seems like when I set my grubby hands on one and give them to the tamer it seals them with black death and they fail. Bottomline, I'm thinking' of just scamming one off of a player. Another solution is somehow getting enough money to buy gpots and sell epros using ads on websites to...
