The server is back online. Sorry for the short delay.
Aloha Onyxites,
I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday seasons, and while you're all doing that, we're working hard back here in order to ensure that you're getting the best possible experience on Onyx. We've made a lot of modifications this weekend (with the server being down), and hopefully, they're some updates that you'll really like. Some of the things we're still working on and will continue to work on into this week, but I'll let you know if that's the case for any of the things I post below. We would love some community feedback on these updates as well, a link to the review thread will be posted at the end of this post. As always, we thank you for choosing Onyx and remember that none of this would be possible without you!

New Patcher Download!
So, one of the first things we're going to have you do is download a new patcher. We've updated some things with the new host, and we added some additional security to prevent injections from popular programs, this was a precaution we had originally intended to include but had gotten sidetracked and ultimately forgotten. As of now, you will need to download this new patcher to access the server, don't worry, it is very small in size and a relatively quick download. You can find the download on the mirrors here:

It's not hard to understand what to do from here, but of course, I'll help you out to ensure you're not lost in the translation here. We're here to help, so we'll make sure you're properly taken care of.
1. Download the new patcher, located in the mirrors above.
2. Navigate to your Onyx folder, this folder is wherever you originally installed the client.
3. Delete your "Onyx.exe" file from there, and then overwrite that file with the new patcher you 4.downloaded above.
5. Run the above patcher, and wait for the updates to finish installing.
6. Play Onyx!
If you need help, feel free to post in the Technical Support forum and we'll see that you're assisted as soon as possible. Of course, you're always able to contact @Qpas or @Medichi, as they're our current in-game and forum moderation team, they should be able to assist you in virtually any fashion. Comment in the review thread with any comments about this!
Quality of Life Adjustments
As normal, we have a list of changes that we have implemented that we hope alter the way you play Onyx, and make it more enjoyable for everyone involved. These changes typically involve small NPC changes or things like that, nothing that involves character balance or anything. It's helpful for all aspects of the game, and we hope that these changes were things that we took from your feedback and comments. Any comments on these, please post them in the review thread listed below.
Drop/Pickup Changes
Pick up pets should move more quickly on your screen, as well as move more fluidly from drop to drop.
Dropped items on the server are removed after 1 minute and 30 seconds, rather than the initial 3 minutes.
We're increased the time allotted between a drop steal from 7 seconds to 10 seconds.
A "drop steal" is when your pick-up pet/you are able to pick up another person's masquerpet dropped items.
String/System Communication Changes
Party pick-up text was officially changed to look better than before.
We've now allowed the /say (private message window) to extend further down, allowing you to type multiple lined messages without having to remain on the first two that are typed.
Implemented a /gmlist and /outall (admin only) command for future reference, the /gmlist command is usable on all accounts/characters.
General Changes
Added starting items for all beginners, may change these to include more things in the future, but this is a start. These items include:
All blinkwings (99x).
30-day Blue Sailor (M/F).
7-day Baby Lawolf pick-up pet.
Adjusted the collecting rates, you now have a higher chance at collecting the better items on the field.
Your action slot now has no cooldown.
Donation Shop
Almost done with the Item Mall/Voting Center in general.
Added fashions into boxes to be sold at the Item Mall (customs).
As always, please comment on any issues you have with the above modifications in the review thread that will be posted in the bottom of this post. You doing so helps us further discussion on these updates. Any comments/feedback are welcome.

System Modifications/Forum & Web Updates
We've updated our server with a couple of systems that we feel will make the experience here a tad bit more enjoyable. Systems take a lot of time and effort to work on, so we hope that you're enjoying them. If you feel any should be changed, please post it in the update review thread and let us know what your thoughts on the matter are.
Stay Connected
A new system designed by Aria (thank you), which gives a certain amount of experience for every hour that you are online. We will be redesigning this system somewhat throughout the next week, as we've had some debates on how to properly use it.
Fixed a bug with this that didn't give the appropriate experience or show the appropriate time remaining to the next buff in experience.
It's located to the right of the HP bar on the top center of the client. It shows Time Online, your current EXP Bonus, and the time left until the next bonus occurs.
