Lots of tutorials here have broken links and are outdated

How is the community supposed to grow if all the guides are from 5+ years ago and all the links are broken? Is there a wikipedia somewhere? a documentation?

The veterans in this community need to modernize this project. Making new people dig through hundreds of threads that were written 10 years ago is not good for community growth I'm struggling a lot these last few weeks because lack of updated tutorials.

first of all nobody needs anything here !
And to your question whether there is a Wiki or document where all links are available it doesn't get you any further if the links haven't been updated by someone nice wise.

I think there are enough tutorials here to put a server online quickly and easily e.g. through files like this thanks to @ .

Who says that the community is small or should grow? If you are interested to learn something bring it to yourself by testing and testing it I can only say.

And if you don't know what to do, just open a help thread with all the questions and they will surely give you an answer to every topic.

I mean you are right, all the post are extremly old but they are also still right and can be used.
And because of you can find everything in one spot

Why should we modernize this Forum? I don't think the FlyFF Developers want to help others because it will decrease their own market share.

I think it's more like people only requesting stuff and not even trying to solve anything on their own nor look for simple error messages by themself (like "undeclared identifier" or "not defined"). If people are not even interested in trying, then they should not be eligable to receive some help. May sound like an unpopular opinion but that's fact for many of us here.

True. If they don't invest their own time into teaching themselves, why should we invest our time then. It would be wasted.

You don't have to lecture me on how to be productive. I've already put 6+ hours each day for 3 weeks on my FlyFF server without asking for help and I've been developing and programming my whole life.

exists but it's in shambles. Dead links, broken images in nearly every guide. You tell beginners to contribute but there's no where to turn and start learning properly, hilarious. The resources are bad just like your logic.

Tell me which once are broken and we can look for a solution. If that's your reasoning, then this thread is a waste of time.

I share this "unpopular opinion". Although I'm not that good at coding, I will not just randomly throw errors I get when compiling on the forums and hope for anyone else to solve them.

It's not quite hard getting into understanding errors of even modifying the code already released if you really want.

The community however is like "I've seen this feature on another server, somebody release pls" without wanting to pay for it or recreate it by themselves.

Indeed, updating old releases might be nice for people looking for basic systems. Speaking for myself: I've seen plenty of threads where I thought: "Man, I want to include that in my files" but the link was down. Workaround? Maybe look at the later pages and not just the first one.
And even if there's no reupload, one should consider trying to learn C++ and understanding how the Flyff source works.

In conclusion: Don't just ask for any releases or support on things you have no clue how to implement. If one has a specific problem, one may ask for further support. That's my opion at least.
