You start off as level 1, with 10 gil, and maybe an onion sword. You get to explore the vast world of Vana'diel, but you don't have to do it alone. With an active player community, you're only alone when you want to be. Final Fantasy XI's best feature was the community, and that's what we strive for. There is a server wide linkshell that all are welcome to, and there are many alternate linkshells players have made.
Everything in the game is player generated. The auction house has only items made by or farmed by players. The crafters are very active as well. You'll see parties formed at pretty much all hours for experience and farming.
We do it like it was done in 2006.
* Experience rate is 1x.
* Movement speed is 1x.
* Level cap is 75.
* Notorious Monsters drop the non-ex gear.
* RoZ & CoP Storylines available.

* Players work together.
The Rules are very simple, here's a few samples:
* No botting. No poshacks. No warp hacks. No speed hacks.
*
If that didn't kick in the nostalgia, I don't know what will.
* So you want to play?

We have the most advanced server architecture, every zone has it's own server. There are 6 physical servers that each handle 30-40 virtual servers, one for each zone. These all are form the single world server. Everything is redundant from servers to databases to switches. 6 virtual machine hosts, 2 SAN's, 2 switches. Live backup's every 30 minutes.
