BEFORE you do anything, make a backup of the new C3.wdb file in "ini" folder, just in case!
1. REMOVE IN-GAME EFFECTS - Patch 5127 onwards:
a. Create an empty "3DEffect.dbc" file in CO "ini" folder.
b. Start CO and play - in-game effects are now gone!
2. RESTORE IN-GAME EFFECTS - Patch 5127 onwards:
a. Copy the original 5127 "3DEffect.dbc" into CO "ini" folder.
b. Start CO and play - in-game effects are now back!
