The first, easiest and main pet for Vampire is its internal permanently converged pet - BloodSoul. There are significant differences about that pet:
1. You need Vigor to compose it. Vigor you get from killing monsters or training in online training grounds.
2. It does not have Initial attribute composing as such. Initial attributes are raised by Primal Hunger. Primal Hunger happens at random once per day - it either raises initial attributes or gives 30 reborns on pet. Primal Hunger can be triggered by different things, but most common are - killing a monster, dying, or having pet killed. TQ also claims it can happen by using ExpBalls, but I have never seen it happen.
3. Sub-attribute composing is done through Pneuma sacrifice (only needs Vigor and then you wait for it to happen). Pneuma level slowly increases, maximum level is 40, that is when all sub-attributes are maximized.
You do not have to be online to finish Pneuma sacrifice, that is pretty neat thing at final Pneuma stages, when it needs 36 hours to complete.
4. BloodSoul can be main-composed with absolutely any other pet, including SaintOs/SaintXOs, which for other classes are only for divine composing. Its kind of - the BloodSoul consumes the pet to increase its HP growth. And that is pawning also - you can feed any junk you have to it.
5. Orb/Agate composing is different than other pets. Well, you just try and will see, bit long to explain what is Orb/Agate first and what is different for BloodSoul after.
So, first of all you should concentrate on BloodSoul - make it 40* to be able to do Apotheosis and become divine (which is so damn easy, was a real kick in balls for all other classes).
Then regarding other pets - basically all the pets which are good for warrior.
If you are more up about just playing/PKing, then can take any.
If you are also planning to compete in PK Tournament, then you should build or buy following ones:
- WatcherOren, this is Vampires pet, something same as Pixie for Paladins, with difference that it is free dropping from monsters, currently - more than any other free dropping pet
- Pixie
- Warrior P-defenceM-defence
- SaintBear
Last 3 are not quite vampire pets, but Pixie/PdefMdef can be used in PKT by all classes and SaintBear is a mount, that is why it can be used by all classes too.
If you need mage pet (for faster monster killing or PKing) or not depends on you - Vampires have area attack spell, so it is not that crucial as for Warrior. Just to give extra material for thinking - see, every char initially starts with ability to summon 2 pets only. Since BloodSoul is permanently converged, means you can summon only 1 pet - if it is mage, then your char has no extra shield against attacks, PKers may cause some trouble for you at the beginning. Having no pet converged is not so big problem against monsters - even if they do some damage to you, Vampires have another feature - they recover HP during EXP period from killed monsters.
And in my eyes Vampires also do not need the mage pet for PKing because of the other essential feature - Penetration.
Penetration is ability to hit character directly, regardless converged pets. If it is triggered, it will also hit mage and paladin chars directly, bypassing their Damage Share feature (means, the pets will not share damage with char).
