Any hHigh level forging tricks?

Are there any known tricks with high level bonus?
I've tried following sword flash in upgrade screen - worked fine with level 85 sword (+12 with 5 attempts), now i've super level 93 helmet, and spent more than 20 yellows on it with no luck. The max achieved was +11, now it's +9 again.
