Captain DMA Discord Server - Beware.
Hey y'all, I just want to put this up here as a precaution. The CaptainTech discord server is currently in shambles, and the support staff is non-responsive. If you're thinking about buying from them at the moment, do not. Another reseller for CaptainDMA has told the server that the owner of CaptainTech owes the supplier upwards of $3k USD and has not placed an order since Aug 23rd. I do want to make this crystal clear that, to the best of my knowledge, CaptainTech and CaptainDMA are not the same entity. There are people who are buying CaptainDMA cards from other resellers and reported receiving them within a week. Will update with any future news. Good luck, y'all. Looking like a possible exit scam.
Edit: Update from Xavier, a staff member on CaptainTech:
I know I know, the server is burning down since a few days and this is the only thing I can tell you:
All orders should be handled today. Captain’s IRL close friend unfortunately passed away a few days ago and he didn’t want to manage it anymore, I didn’t either.
However, after a talk with him, he will be back by today (hopefully). He’s still in an unstable state so please understand and deal with patience.
All ordeals will be solved today, if not him, I will. I don’t have access to the money so I unfortunately cannot do anything, cannot move it around. Please be assured he is NOT exit scamming. Do not listen to anyone that he is.

Update 2: Xavier is rather confident in Captain's return later today or tomorrow.
Update 3 / 4: CaptainTech issued an apology, comment from Lone & other's running an AI generated test on his apology.  resulting in 100% likelihood.
I've just read some of your DMs and I want to express my sincere gratitude for the heartwarming words. However, the recent "drama" surrounding the server has been quite distressing for me to read. Initially, I didn't even want to check my phone because of the events that happened to me, but now I realize that people rely on me to handle things and that, as a responsible 24 yr old, I am capable of doing so. Let me clarify that I am not attempting to scam anyone and my personal life issues should not be used as an excuse to spread baseless rumors. In hindsight, I should have been upfront about my situation from the beginning and taken some time off.
As my actions continue to weigh heavily on my conscience, I find myself deeply saddened by the consequences of my behavior. I am deeply sorry for any distress I have caused. My actions were not in keeping with the values we hold dear as a community, and I take full responsibility for my mistakes. I acknowledge that my behaviour was unacceptable and that it had a negative impact on those around me as well as my customers. I understand that my actions have caused a breach of trust and I am committed to working hard to regain that trust.
I want to assure everyone that I am taking steps to address my behaviour and prevent it from happening again. In the future, I am committed to taking responsibility for my actions and making things right. The trust that I have lost within the community is something I now realize may be irreparable, but I understand that it will take time to rebuild the trust I have lost, but I am willing to put in the work to do so. I would like to sincerely apologise to the community for my actions. It pains me to acknowledge that my actions have caused inconveniences and frustrations for those who have patiently waited for their orders. I understand that mere words cannot undo the damage that I have done, and for that, I am truly remorseful.
I will fulfill all orders and it will be sent out to customs tomorrow, and you will receive a tracking code the day after tomorrow. I am deeply sorry for any inconvenience I've caused and I know some of you have been waiting a week. If you want to, we'll be happy to refund you. I want to keep transparency between everything, so refunds are not a problem.
Again, I am very sorry for my actions and continuing forward I hope we can re-build trust and make amends, as a community.

I think this has even been mentioned in his own server in the past.
I don't know why everyone thinks they are the owners maybe because of the captain logos plastered everywhere giving it that impression/impersonation. They are just distributors.
We sell the same stuff 1:1 from the actual factory and offer other factory brands, too for users inteterested
.

Yeah, I advise against anyone giving them any more money at this point.
He went MIA for quite a few days the other week, and then came back unannounced. Now he's been missing for a week, no messages from him or his #1 support/moderator. Support tickets have been maxed out forever.
Then we get this announcement:
Not sure I'd trust my money with someone who "isn't sure" if they want to run their business.
Smells like an exit scam, but even if it isn't, I'd stay away for the above reason.

Yo it's me again who exposed RangerDMA. READ HERE
I just want to say that Ranger is partnered with CaptainDMA so do not buy that either like I was before in my other post these two are scams and DO NOT buy anything from these providers. All they did was rebrand and sell unworking DMA or never ship anything. If you want to know where the proof is in the discord server of the RangerDMA saying go buy from him too. Im sure both of these sellers know each other and are likely just scam people again like they did with Raptor. STAY AWAY

A short update from my side, a customers side.
I ordered one device 1 week ago and paid immediatley 400 USD. Since then I did not receive any answer from them.
So I openened up a support ticket (which was not easy as the queue is always full and will not be cleared) and asked for status, also no response. I send emails and DMs to Captaintech and Mod, also no response.
Yesterday captaintech announced to execute all orders within the next 24 hours and he closed his public chat on dc in parallel. Yes, he closed his chat!
But my support ticket, DMs and mails are still unanswered so i do not trust his "immediate execution of all orders" announcement at all.
ATM I would not recommend to order there. If I get a positive feedback, i will update here. But I do not expect this anymore.

Has something happened to the dma market in china? ive seen a few big sellers completely remove their product page

I can just say, i ordered a week ago..
I recieved my Stuff (the V5, my fuser and the kmbox) yesterday. Everything seems to be okay with my order. Idk why so many guys complain, i have to say that the support is currently "not there", so i can agree that i get no answers aswell.

Iirc any orders after 8/23 haven’t shipped yet or had any updates. We had a few people get their orders from 8/22 though.

Ye maybe i was one of the last lucky guys that got thier stuff...
I would say we just should chill and wait a couple more days, when the status isnt changing i would say that it could a possible exitscam

Doubt it, I also doubt that captaintech was the only one that owed money to the factories
Theres more competition than ever and DMAs are a niche thing, the majority of gamers doesnt cheat and only very small part of cheaters is gonna buy a card. That card is gonna last you for years since the hardware itself isnt gonna be outdated any time soon, the only thing that maybe needs updating is the firmware

update: my order is still unprocessed, the scammer does not answer my ticket, there was one short note: it takes 1 or 2 days more for a refund process.
compare this to his annoucement 3 days ago

avoid to buy there, there are many other resellers which are reliable but not Captaintech.
