PeerBlock is a wonderful little program that also blocks ips, We use it on DarkLotus

peer block with your fire walls peer block bans a range of ips that you set all blocks spam and alot of other stuff . and unwanted ppl and things we love it XD..........keeps baned ppl off DarkLotus...........

peerblock is for peer to peer networks (uttorent)
but it works to , but windows firewall is still the best blocking program there is

same as iptables (more advanced firewall) like the link you could find to my kb
it shows a more advanced way to block ip's and more stuff on a more secure way

only problem is , it is a bit harder then starting up a program , but it does atleast his work

if i am not wrong , i tryed peerblock to , but it locked out everything that wasnt needed or it just refused to work (if i am not wrong)

anyway , i am glad it works for you
but i still love the old fasion way and like to have control over what get blocked and what not

and on a vps is it a little differend then on your home computer , as you try to keep the memory usage as low as possible (lesser programs = lower memory = better performance)

but still nice htat you want to share it

but when you share an connection with another computer (mine!) it can really mess with that other ones abilities to connect. We were lucky to have a great guy help us with the peerblock, and show us how to make it work for us thanks Frank. And I can connect as I need to to surf to my hearts content Including on ICP's computer..mine is the backup lol.
