Documenting Abusive and spamming players

Hello my name is Jake I own UnKnownSoulZ i was hoping as owners we could share the information of people that think its cool to make accounts on your server to spam and advertise their eo p servers, or demonstrate pedophile or abusive behavior t words others I feel it is our job as owners to protect our players and if we can work together and share the problematical people we may be able to make our servers safer and our jobs easier

iv had somethink like that happening on my server before i dont allow it nor do i allow people adverticing other servers on my server and i dont allow my members to advertice on other peoples server i respect all the servers i also play acme aceEO and others without adverticing.

The only thing that will help this is to get the IP addresses that these players use and send it to all the owners of other pservers. If this is done by each owner then this type of behavior will decrease. The only problem it seems as in the cases with these types of players is they seem to have a number of IP addresses. I have seen this type of abuse on many servers. Every Owner though would have to be vigilent and cooperate with each other to lower the activity of this type of problem.

Hey thanks for posting as far as i know when someone changes an their ip for instance i just banned IP: 41.235.149.211 when they change the ip all that will change is the last 3 numbers in this one is .211 when the player changes the IP will be something like 41.235.149.212 or 41.235.149.255 when they come back unfortunately sometimes when you do a range ban and ban all the IPs that begin with 41.235.149. you will get a larger group of people that maybe didn't do anything sad that they get others in trouble but what can you do

A player has come to my server to advertise the server he works for as a [PM] empireseo.*********/ his name is $LoRd.MoHmEd$, Aka $LoRd.AhMeD6$ IP: 41.235.149.211 & he is permanently banned from my server now thanks

We must remember most of the people coming from Egypt which is most of the 41.***.xx.xx Ip addresses use net cafes. So every time they log in, they will most likely have a newer IP. You must then ban the IP ranges in order to correctly ban them.

belive it or not but there are some decent eygption players ... we have one on our staff and we get VERY picky about staff...

Well, to catch the spammers/advertisers faster, you must give a reward for people that can tell you, if there is a spammer (with proof) people will with this simple reward, catch the spammers/advertisers for you.

Just ban there Account, or delete it. The IP ban is useless.

they will use IP guard or just change there IP.

Maybe you will have to do this 5 times over with the same person. but he will see it has no effect and gets banned each time again. so he will give it up.

This is the way TQ take's it. they will just ban you, no IP or what ever just a Ban.

they know if they IP ban , they can lose lots of players, but the little differents is that in TQ is everything word lots more.

off course you can search for same IP and also ban hes 'main' account, some have a play account and spam account, but before banning you should make a clear topic on "your" forum about the "rule's" also writhe in it that they are able to be edited at all time's. ect ect so they cannot complain

Filter list in the Broadcast log for things like www. wWw. Www. WwW. .com etc etc

I agree that there are some wonderful people from Egypt, but as the saying goes, "One bad apple ruins the bunch" Basically meaning that sometimes you have to take drastic measures to fix them.

usually giving the server name is enough to find the link ... and keeps things such as looking for web addresses less likely to get them

yup ... im happy to say we allow egyptions on our server and well they dont really cause issues on our server ... well other than you should add this ... you should add this ... you should add this etc lol! ... msn can be a dangerous place but they are just giving thier input to your server which is usually appreciated as well ... we try to run our server with the players thoughts in mind

yes if you look in your data base in the cq_unlawful_name table you can set letters that players cannot use in their names when they register if you add www. and .com .net and other things a spammer might put in their name you can stop people from registering also i believe he is talking about the filter wizard you can go to cq_ad_log this is the table that records all your broadcasts look on the top toolbar of your navicat look for the green filter wizard button there hit that then in green click <click here to add> then you will click id that will open a drop down menu then you will select word then select "is equal to" and change that to 'contains' and then click the button that says "<?>" enter in the phrase you are looking for in your broadcast like www. or . com and hit Enter then hit Apply
your filter wizard set that waw will pull out all the broad casts with the phrase www. in it and show you them so you can find spammers good luck
