Question For You All

i have been thinking about asking for a sub section for this forum. The specifics of this sub section would be Server Releases. Basically a place for people to go to advertise thier servers. Having a sub section here would allow those that release things a little more organization not to mention those that have thier server dont have to worry about thier server thread getting lost among everything else.

So far this is just an Idea i just want to get everyones opnion on it.

Would like to comment if the admin wouldn't find it too much to have 2 sub sections you could have 1 for Server Release/Adverts and 1 Purely for Database updates binary releases etc. Like each section has a Hack/Mod release without questions. Just I notice alot of servers out these days so even updates would get lost amongst so much servers.

thats what i was thinking, have one section for the database and stuff and another section for servers to advertise.

I agree with it, it would be amazing to have both. Maybe the whole things should be revised:

Pserver General
-DB & Binary Releases
-Casual and Weapon/Armor Releases
-Server Releases
-Guides
-Help Section

This way we are more organized and it will also be easier to be cleaned up.

In the help section we can simply watch to see if the person gets the help they need then close it so we dont get newbs asking for help in necrothreads.

In the guides we can simply watch to see if the guides become outdated and remove them.

In the casuals, etc. we can watch for double releases.

In the DB/Binary we can watch for old/not working releases.

It shouldnt be too hard to put all of this together either. (I have worked with vBulletin before and adding subforums is EASY.)

eh i am going to let this go for a few days before i message a higher up about it and bring this thread to thier attention. I do however like Drens idea of a neat organized way for it to be layed out.

Now mind you i have no direct control over any of this. I can only make a request. it is up to the others to make it happen or not

Okay lets say that admin made a new sub division and are you going to move all the old stuff into it or are you going to let it build up by scratch?

i would probably move the threads here that belong in thier respective sections. Yeah it would be a lot of work for me but to be honest it would be worth it. The orginiztion would rock..lol

Having to sort through pages and pages of relevant results when I try to search for research material is cumbersome.

I'm more of an IPB than vBulletin guy, but I would imagine topic multi-moderation, or something similar, would be message board standard. Using something like that should make the chop shop job a few hour's work.

Subdivide and conquer, I say.

With our current percentage I think it would be a good idea to pass it up now. 22 to 1 right now, so far everyone is saying yes but that 1 person. If you need help picking out threads I can make a list of URLs and organize them into categories...
