New servers and newbie's

hey all
it is time to explain a few things because all the messy questions on this forum is getting irritating for a lot of old members

lets start from the beginning where it goes about , so we start with a easy example

now for the other readers who do understand the above part , this are a few rules before you can start a private server

you do need a website and you do need a register page , the website itself is created mostly in html and using a non edited website is just a BAD idea

so if you know how to edit your website , then you can atleast change the text on it , unlike some websites i saw that just got the "stolen" text on it

php is needed to config the register page .. so your register page will work and the fun can start

so first things first , if you do not know how to edit a number or where the ID is used for ... then this private server world is not for you
changing numbers is easy , but let the numbers do what it need to do is a problem , you can learn what numbers means what

atleast if you got a little basic knowledge about mysql then we can continue

so far mysql , learn the basic or start with messing in a forum database to learn it

it is easy to press 3 buttons , but you need to know what those 3 buttons do
you need to know how you can install a program and how you can setup a program
that are just basic windows skills , pressing online on wamp is realy not hard to do ... but still some users fails at it as they can not find that button back in there taskbar

if you do not have the above skills ... please stay as player

please use those skills to LEARN what errors shows up
to LEARN where the error is located and to finaly solve the problem

mysql errors SHOWS exactly what the problem is ( host not allowed to connect -> host is NOT allowed to CONNECT -> read text again , it says exact error )

so if you know how to read , use your unic skill and read , reading is the first start to learn things , read the forum , read the errors , read the solutions and then we can start to develop our server

all other things are self explaining
so congrats if you got so far

in case you got not this far , then please stay as a normal player or start with the above things before opening a private server

on that way you will get 2 new things

• old members will be gladly to help you with your problem that you can not solve
• players will play your server and will be happy , as they know that you can take care of them

hopely this post can make the difference on private servers and helps others to understand what basic they need before opening a server

it would indeed be nice if this could be a sticky but that is not up to me to deside

honestly I have none of these skills but one skill that can help when all others fail

its really the only thing needed to make a server or do just about anything else.. but for those people who need a little more than that everything else is pretty much laid out for anyone who wants to use it in these forums they just need to look for it good point though to suggest that a person should look and think first though so they might actually make good use of these forums and learn many great things

that certain skill can you get only by reading
and it is that part where the most users fails on

claiming that you got only common sense means that you LEARN other skills or start using them

those are things that normal players can not do and why you see a lot of rubish posts on this forum ( provide me querry , providing a solution alone is not enouf , i need a working db .. i want candy db, not revo because revo is bugged ..., why is my client version 1.2 (ph_dev) not working with vampire database ? )

if i provide you a simple mysql querry you know it is a querry
how do you know ? because you start reading it , you notice ... hey it looks like ... and start searching

so yea , even providing a reply on this topic whit the kind of answer you dit proof that you know what you do
and thats where this point goes about
