I really want to play this server for fun on my computer but I have no idea on how to set it up, is there a guide on this specific server? Or could you make a guide for someone like me to learn how to run and play? Please it’s all I really have for fun…

Works the same as old servers. Host the db with winmysqladmin and set user/pass as root test. make sure the server.dat is set to 127.0.0.1 and then run acc, msg, and npc servers. The default login saved should work.

The files seem to be for BO which I believe was an old funhacker project from like 10 years ago and the files seem pretty modified from normal EO. UI looks like CO but it's been years since I've played so I'm not sure if it's the same. Movement is different too. Left click is slow walk and right click is run. Gold seems to be the only currency as well. I'll dig around in these files some more later. I was always under the assumption the old eo source couldn't be compiled so this stuff is pretty cool to me.

Took me awhile and I had to install visual studio 6.0 on an xp virtual machine but I got the client to compile with no errors lastnight. Unfortunately, soul_debug.exe crashes after I run it but all the dlls compile correctly from what I can tell. The account server compiles and runs with no issues. The msg and npc servers generate some weird .obj files and then point at these files with errors. Gonna try to get soul_debug to compile and run without issue but who knows.

I just wanted to post here that I've successfully compiled it and soul.exe runs without crashing. The issue was I was compiling the debug version and it was trying to access the debug version of a visual studio 6.0 dll that didnt exist on my actual computer since I was compiling in a virtual machine. After I switched to the release version I got 19 errors but stackoverflow thread helped me fix the issues very very easily. Next I'm going to figure out why I can't create a character. I keep getting an error that says my name is already in use but it isn't.
