[RELEASE] DDS converter

Well, because this is a tool, i post it here and not on another section


People were complaining they cant open or edit a dds file..


This tool, can convert the dds file to jpg,png,bmp,tga

and it can convert "to" dds

so no longer need special photo shops

if you donwload and not thank me i will kill you

[EQUIPMENT YOU WILL NEED]

Photoshop
nVidia DDS Plugin:

[TUTORIAL]

1: Open up an armour in Photoshop, Doesnt matter which one.[Armors can be found in your Eudemons Online folder>c3>textures].



2: Ok, so im going to create a BASIC colour mod just to show you how simple it is. So you want to select the lasso tool, hold it down and pick Polygonal Lasso. Then select pieces of the armour you want to edit such as done below.



3: Then your going to hit CTRL+U on your keyboard and find the colour / luminosity / lighting etc that you want your new pieces to be such as done below.



4: Now its the easy part, Select "File" from the drop down menu at the top and select "Save As". This is where the nVidia plugin comes in handy. Use the settings shown below.



5: Easy bit. Use the settings as below.


6: Heres your finished result. Feel proud of yourself for bothering to do it and check it out ingame!Thanks for reading. Enjoy!

euuh ... thats a plug in ... .. my release is a "tool" ...

you only need the "tool" to "convert" it no photoshop ect ect ...


thats why i released it

Download it, and see yourself ... no need for a photoshop or other desing programs..

But, if you mean, i need to add this link :P i will update the post

Photoshop is an editior for images and etc, deadp00l just put the plugin for it to run .dds files, by the way .dds is a very popular format in game development, so there will be much freeware editors for it(Photoshop costs a bit much $$).

hmmmmm interesting that your saying it costs ..... im pretty sure you aint paid for it .... much like almost everyone here

ok, i think you don't understand my points of this release ...


whit this program, you can event make a picture that was made on PAINT

to dds

it just a converter ... not a plugin or photoshop itself ...

we understand what your saying .... to me its a stupid way to do it .... but anyway i will keep those thoughts out of this ....

Stupid way?let's say, i want to use GIMP to edit textures, i would need a plugin for GIMP, which don't exist and wont(According to what Nivida says), i will need a converter to convert from dds to png, then back png to dds, that's the point.

Who said i didn't pay for photoshop?
I am talking about official/licensed use, it's easy to grab an illigal download and use it freely, but what if you were kindly caught?or even, are you goin to make any commercial thing with a pirated version of the program?
I got a licenced version of Photoshop ,I got Visual studio 2008 professional from Microsoft DreamSpark , and i use an unregistered beta version of 3dsMax 2010 .

no its not stupit, because, what do you have to do if you have the picture in JPG and you don't have photoshop?
