Idk if I am getting old or am I getting tired of insta 200 servers we have nowdays. Back in my days it took us a whole week to reach max levels on pservers. I really miss those days. The bad side of those days was you had to do countless dung runs in python or similar, very repetitive spots. I never understood why they didnt take in account time needed to make a level.
Few more ideas:
At start, calibrate exp so it takes certain levels to progress through the map. For example: ardeca from 1-20, denebe 20-40 etc. Reduce number of levels needed as you progress but increase difficulty.
Quest do not contain ranged monsters. At least those quest that require you to kill 20 of them, you wont have to kill them one by one. Part of my storyline would be that the monsters are very stupid. They understand the concept of armor and weapon but they think every weapon is a sword.
