Modded Data.pak; Detectable? (With the exception of being seen lol)
Just wondering if it's detectable if it's modified after the last few patches. Did a few searching quests throughout the forums, but every time someone asks, the question is never answered. Please and thank you.

to my knowledge, editing the monster pak isn't detectable but don't take my word for it lol. I've been using it for a while, vac hack and whatnot, the only way I'm thinking I'd get caught is if i get seen.

I think that if u increase the Max Stack of items like potion it can be detect. Maybe Acclaim don't control it but the information of your character like your level, your equipmet are stored on Acclaim server and if you increase the max number of potion from 5 to 99 you can have in you invenctory something like 3000 potion that you can't have if you don't modify your data.pak. So on Acclaim server maybe they can read that you have 3000 potion in your invenctory when the max number of potion you can have is 100*2(or 4 if you use 2 backpack)*5= 1000(2000)
That's the only thing that I know that should be detect by Acclaim

the only one who can answer you that question is acclaim
i think you will see it has been detectable after the first persons will write that they were banned  i will stop with the modification before the big patch comes. acclaim will do a massban after some days/week after they can detect it and collect all accounts before ^^

ABout stacknumbers increase, yes u can edit it to 3000 pot in single stack(if your inventory have enough slot for 3000/5= 600slot).I tested with stacknumber edit to higher amount(client side image only).Means stacknumber on server side we cant edit it.
i try buy a lot of pot all in single stack,when i wanna more pot i get a message inventory full although i still have a lot of space.
*I tested myself,cant.
may be someone manage to edit it?

I was thinking about stopping after the big update myself as they are getting rid of and adding many things at once, most likely the Nunvice glitch and edited .pak files to name a few.

They announcened the events for january and never tell us a real date for the update...

^_^ this is my first post here, even though i've been a member since last yr (lol), about this data.pak stuff... i've been trying all sorts of things, and this is what i've discovered so far: (please comment if ever ^^)
1. Current patch 2.8.27 is no longer loadable by Monster Edit, however, if you have edited the PAK file before this patch, the edited values will still work, even after the patch, it seems previous data/strings/hex values were unchanged.
2. PAK file size and DATE is detected by dekaron.exe, how? i tried using an older version of the PAK file to 2.8.21 patch (so date and size differs right) 2Moons will not start, so i added some stuff at the end of the file to match the size of current PAK patch, it loads but once you try to open inventory it closes T_T
3. Also theres an offset in PAK file, were some are not SERVER SIDE!!! this values is were you can change some stuff, i wont mention it here as you all know it would affect all our happy days in this site, just PM me, however i wont answer all PMs except those ive noticed give help here ^^.
4. PAK file also affects packets sent to and from SERVER to CLIENT that affects lag, DC and other errors within the game.
well these are what ive discovered so far, hope it would help clear stuff about this PAK file.
last chance you've (well all of us) got is, have edited all we need in pak file before the patch, but it seems that bit by bit Acclaim is clearing things that can be edited or modified in client side to remove BOTS!!!

As far as i understand its the data.hd what reads the data.pak so all they need to do is edit that is some way in an update.

about the offsets in PAK file, hehehe, most use the Monster Editor to change stuff in the PAK file while others do it manually using WinHex right, well the offsets that are currently being edited are partially client side, theres a different set of offsets were u can actually change DROP RATE and UPGRADES ^_^, and also acquiring MOBS more than 4 (hehehe cool but noticeable by VGMs)
example:
byReviveExpCostRatio = 5
wHPFullRecoveryTime = 360
and so on ^_^ but even if you edit any of this, it wont work without changing one small value in the header (lol, try and find it out..  )

Monster editor works fine with 2.8.27 I'm running it on Vista (administration mode)though so that might make a difference also yes Changing Data.pak files are very detectable not just by being seen although being seen usually increases your chances (They can mostly tell if they randomly skim through user log files)everything you do monsters being atk'd gold you pick up etc..it's saved server side and will basically give your whole history about your character from the point he/she was created.

You might be right but what is the chances really? There is thousands of people of playing and no way could the GMs constantly go through the logs because it would take just too long to do.

Global Exception(2)!!!

I get this error when I'm at the stealthex login window, and as soon as i hit start this error comes up "Global Exception(2)!!! Send the 'stealthex_error.log' file to stealthex.org
and just behing that error theres one saying Global Exception(1)!!!
i can't find a solution anywhere and theirs other people with this problem to, so your not only helping me but your helping others.
