the key to understanding dekaron mechanics is atleast spending a few days lookin into all the CSV files, and see whats inside them
then grab a big notepad and start writing down id's and see where u find them back.
the most files are logically named
like item.csv > itemset.csv > monster.csv (Collumn ItemSetDrop1,ItemSetDrop2,etc)
just start reading, searching and writing down relevant links between files, and eventually u'll start figuring things out.
agent ransack (Free powerfull filesearcher) is a good help asswell as filecompare to see the difference between a corrupted, and correct file
i have a server running live at the datacentre, and a server running at home on lan to constantly checkout changes i make to the filesets and their effects.
I wont advice you to start development on a running server. just get things the way you want, then invite 10 friends and start levelling, testing skills/quests/items/fortification/drops etc etc.
but the most important is, just not getting bored of it. Starting a dekaron server basicly comes down to quitting to actually play the game, since 99% of the time you'll be busy answerring questions, fixing bugs, banning hackers or restoring your server after it has been hacked for the 32th time.
It's all in the learning, and the will to take time to do so.
9/10 posts about new servers here come from people that just got the 1 click working with stolen files, or even worste the stock files. wanting to become the next best server.
If you want to make a difference. don't be the first to have something or get it all running as fast as possible. Take your time to figure things out, rather then copying other players sollutions without learning from it.
