Create a DK without a server

I mean, is it possible for me to play the game (only me ofc) without having to use Hamachi or buying a server?

Just reading the dbs from my HD instead of an internet location?

If so, how do I do that?

If there's a tutorial on this, may you direct me to it?

creating a dk without a server is not possible
but creating a server without hamatchi of a dedicated server is possible
our server (DKveterans) runs on a home server that is placed at my home
ppl can play on it and it does not cost me anything
and a home server is good if you dont have 100+ ppl playing

Use localhost (127.0.0.1) as your server's IP and that will be for you only.

But I didn't understand what you meant when you asked if you can you create a server without a server...

Sorry for the lack of info. My mother language is not English.

What I meant if it is possible to host the server at my computer; this is, without having to buy a server or to connect to myself by using Hamachi.

If it is possible, how would I do it?
Writing 127.0.0.1 instead of any server IP in all of the files?

yes its called "localhost"

And another question:
I use Windows Vista, so installing SQL Server 2000 in VMWare would be necessary. Will it be OK doing it like that? Or should I install a posterior version of SQL Server that works well in Vista?

If I install it in VMWare, will I have to run the game with VMWare and SQL Server 2000 (all the dbs) open? I've heard VMWare eats much mem space...
If not, do I have to have SQL Server 200x (a posterior ver that works in Vista) open when running the game?

u will need to use XP on vmware beacuse you cant start the server on vista

windows server08 is bsed on vista kernel! it will NOT run on win server08 :P

doesnt matter which xp version you use. you can use home,professional, win server 2003.

Ok. I'm going to focus on the client-side aspects of the editing. For that I won't need SQL imo...

Is there any tutorial on adding new mobs (creating from scratch), changing mobs characteristics, such as colour, size or shape, and so on?

I'll search for them, but anyways if someone can direct me to a tut, it would be great.
