It has come to our attention that you are developing sources for Dekaron. This is illegal, and we ask you to Cease and Desist your work. If you do not comply with this, we will take action against you. We wish to give you a fair chance to comply with our wishes.

I lol'd for like an hour. The question is, how the **** did they find out my first and last name? Including my address? If Acclaim sold my information to them, I'm suing Acclaim.

Apparently, if I don't stop. I'm going to jail. I would release sources to a few key members before I released publicly.

Should I continue development or should I stop?

Well, it is Acclaim we're talking about. Weird that GameHi got your details.. Hmm, though, Acclaim is connected to GameHi so I suppose all information is passed through. o.o

I say keep working for now, but don't give anything out. Just keep it to yourself. :P

I have Action 2 Stable and working... I'm making it work with MSSQL 2008. Better security, I can apply more policies to stop SQL Injections. I think I may have fixed skill hacking and few other things too. I'd laugh my *** off if Acclaim offered to buy my files. ROFL.

Btw if you think why im asking you for it its just Im curious to find out if acclaim ever emailed me like that to stop my server :P as I cant check through all my mails i have 10k unread messages on 5 email accounts and I never check my mail so yeah.

did u ever make an account with gamehi or accliam? if u did then, they obtained ur address and everything legally. thats at least how i think they did their setup. if not then its ur right to sue them and since it is all ur own work, they have no right in doing anything.

When I signed up. I used

. Not my primary email I use for all my important information, such as banking records.

Both them were received from the CEO Emails.

was one, and I deleted the other one. So I don't remember the other email. =/

well... you are coding something created by YOU.
there's nothing illegal in coding any kind of emulator since it's nothing stolen.

i've got some friends who got similar letters from game companies, but they failed in suing people for developing emulators.

feel free to go on with the coding

i suggest you to google some stuff about copyrights etc

your created emu may have the same features as the original gameserver, but that doesn't matter since it's not copyrighted by them.

one example:
take some kind of file converter for example.
there are about 50 file converters arround (some free- and some shareware), they all do the same things ->converting files. they won't be able to sue each other since they are using self-coded code. The effect of the compiled work isn't under any license.

anyway.. this doesn't make sense at all..
look at eternigames,egq,extreme. they all are using the stolen dekaron files (eternia injected some dlls in order to fix the new buffs etc).
They don'T own any rights either. and they didn't get any letter.
this may just be a prank

i insulted the support for 20 minutes and they might not leave the conversation and always had to be friendly; otherwise they would get fired
