Okay.. >_>! To answer first impressions, yes I r a total nub. I.. Just wanna has some fun on a test server.
I tried to set up an SQL server.
Here is what I did. :x
I downloaded SQL and the Sp4 patch..
- Hit 'Autorun'.
- SQL server 2000 components.
- Install Database Server.
- I click next on the first box.
- Put my dot on Local Computer, click next.
- Create a new instance of SQL Server, or install Client Tools. *Hits Next*.
- Type in my name, leave Company blank. 'Hits next, yet again'.
- Clicked on Yes.
- Put my dot on Server and Client tools. Click next.
- Tick Default, click next.
- Dot on typical, click next.
- Dot on.. Use the same account for each service. Auto start SQL server service. Leave the password blank..
- Mixed Mode.. Type password in. >.>
- Click Next, and it starts the copying or w/e.
- Now.. I set it up, hopefully right. Tell me if I am wrong. And as per Sergcools little guide to starting up my SQL server, I click on Start > Program > Service Manager > Click the little green triangle.
[My Server is set to the Default, and service is set to SQL Server]
Then I get this error..
'The service did not start due to a logon failure'.
Then...
'An error 1069 - (The service did not start due to a logon failure.) occurred while performing this service operation on the MSSQLServer service.
Anyway.. That's about as far as I get, and my dreams come crashing down on me.
Anybody care to explain a fix on it.. Or how to set it up properly, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance. =3
